About Catherine

Catherine, often called Cathy, grew up in Conroe, Texas; near Houston, but everyone is always surprised that she doesn't have an accent. Her older sister, Angela, is often referred as an angel on earth. Angela was born 4 months premature, but despite all odds is still living today. Growing up with a severely disabled sibling has given Catherine great empathy, openness, generosity, and maturity. These are precious gifts used in her work as an actor-creator.

Catherine received her MFA in Acting and Asian Performance while also teaching Intro to Acting at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.

She holds a BFA in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University; and a Professional Training Certificate from Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre. She studied physical ensemble-based theatre at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, England; and Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (RESAD) in Madrid, Spain and she spent a year studying Contemporary Performance at Naropa University.

Catherine has performed, devised, taught and worked backstage in New York City, Hawaii, Texas, Connecticut, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Spain and England. She was an Ensemble Apprentice at Touchstone Theatre and has worked with major theatre companies and festivals such as The Alley Theatre, Hartford Stage, New York Fringe Festival, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Main Street Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, and Huron Playhouse.
